Keeping our eyes on Jesus
Keeping our eyes on Jesus!
Discouragement tries to knock me down when my circumstances are not perfect in my own eyes. When I looked up the definition of discouragement it means: our expectations (what we think should happen) don't align with reality (what actually happens).
God tells us to not be discouraged or afraid no matter what we are going through. We are to look to him for strength and not look at our circumstances. When we look to him then we can be strong and courageous in all things. This is a great memory verse when fear or discouragement tries to creep in..
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””
Joshua 1:9 NLT
Here is another verse that encourages me to run my race well.
“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
Hebrews 12:1-3 NASB1995
Today let’s ask the Holy Spirit to set us free from that sin that keeps us away from his presence. God desires to free us he just wants us to give it to him and he us waiting for us to surrender it.
God is very near to us, so near that he lives in us when we are born again. So let’s fix our eyes on Jesus the one who can give us strength in all things. Let us take courage in whatever trial we are going through because when we do this we walk in his victory and power. Let’s remember this verse the next time discouragement or fear try to creep in.
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Romans 8:11 NASB1995
God is our redeemer and deliver he is worthy to be praised and exalted no matter what we are going through. Let us renew our minds to the truth that we know that God can restore anything that the enemy meant for harm against us and we can rest in that God is for us and not against us! Amen! Be blessed and let’s walk in the victory that God has given us! 🙏🙌
