No more surviving I want to thrive

As I sit before the Lord thinking of the year 2024, I’m so thankful for all that He has brought me through.  There have been many trials and testings of my faith this past year, but at the same time I have seen God do many miracles through my obedience in saying “Yes” to the call as a Children's minister. As I love to do big things for God, and it’s so much fun seeing Him move in power, I also want to be faithful in the small things.

I wrote a list of the areas where God, in the Bible, calls me to be faithful:

1 - Faithful to God

2 - Faithful helpmate to my husband

3 - Faithful in training up my boys in the ways of the Lord

4 - Faithful in watching carefully over our home

5 - Faithful as a humble servant-leader in the ministry to which God has called me and in which He has blessed me

6 - Faithful to my family and friends

7 - Faithful in caring for my family by making healthy meals and taking care of my body.

There are many other things, but writing this list helps me keep my priorities straight.

I feel the Lord gave me this word for 2025:  “Jolene, if you are faithful in the small things, you will be faithful in the big things.  This is straight from His Word as recorded in Luke 16:10 NLT - “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”

This is my prophetic word I got from God straight from Scripture:

She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.  (Proverbs 31:27)

I feel the Lord telling me to stop surviving and start to thrive!  Who is with me, Mamas?!  Some if not all of us have been through some difficult things, but we can be sure that God will turn them all for His good and glory!  (Romans 8:28)

This is another verse God has highlighted to me!  “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.  My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10 NLT)

When we walk in obedience to God in all areas there will be many blessings that follow us. Say this declaration with me if you are ready to stop surviving and ready to thrive:

I declare - In Jesus’ mighty Name, I’m done surviving!  God, I repent for any areas in my life where I have not been obedient to You.  I renounce laziness and rebellion in Jesus' mighty Name!  Lord, please set me free from distractions and idols that separate me from You.  I declare that this year will be a year of abundance, thriving, and obedience in the mighty Name of Jesus!  That my family will live in a place of being the head and not the tail, and that many miracles will follow my life in the mighty Name of Jesus!
