Bringing the Light of Jesus to the Lost this Christmas

Christmas is such a fun time of year!  I enjoy so many things about it, including hanging the stockings, putting up the tree, making ornaments with my boys, making a gingerbread house, and making many other crafts. But what if there were more to Christmas than just traditions like these and the giving and receiving of presents? I think that this Christmas - and every Christmas - we ought to remember why Jesus Christ came. He came to reconcile us to the Father. He lived a perfect life and then died in the place of all sinners.

This Christmas I want to do something for the Kingdom. I have done it before. 7 years ago the Holy Spirit told me to bless one of my friends with a devotional by Priscilla Shirer.  Little did I know she had just started reading the Bible for the first time ever and ended up getting saved. This year we reconnected and now go to church together. It has been so amazing to watch and see her transformation. This year there are two other gals that have been placed in my life, and I felt led to buy Bibles for them. I’m praying for their salvations, and that they will receive the best gift - the free gift of being forgiven and reconciled to the Father in heaven.

Question:  How many people have witnessed to you? Has someone been sharing their faith with you?  Specifically on Christmas?  We get so caught up in the activities and the giving and receiving of presents that we are not always focused on the one thing that would move God so much, which is to plant seeds and lead lost people to the best gift.  That best gift is King Jesus!

Let’s say this prayer together:

Holy Spirit, speak to me about the one person in my life with whom I can plant a seed of salvation this year. Show me what their heart needs this Christmas, and I pray for their salvation this year in Jesus’ mighty name!

Amen!

Let’s rise up and Shine this Christmas! What if all of us led one person to Christ this year?! Wouldn’t that be better than any gift that we may receive!?:)

Love,

Jolene Feist
